Ten commitments
- Mission over money.Money funds good work. It never comes before human dignity, and it never comes first.“Money is not a driver for me and it should never be for us; it should only fund positive things and never put itself or research over human dignity.” Danny, founder
- The same help for everyone.Legal, learning and business help at the same level, whoever you are and whatever you can afford, regardless of race, creed or religion. Paid for by the businesses that benefit commercially.
- We never take people's work.We do not train on other people's data to beat them. We cite our sources, and we credit everyone whose freely given work we learn from.“It's not fair to beat someone by training on their data.” Danny, founder
- Your data is yours. We never sell it and never look at it for advertisers. No addictive design, no engagement tricks. It does not want your data.
- It helps people. It never replaces them.Scientists, specialists and artists stay at the frontier. The new fact belongs to the scientist; the new creation belongs to the artist.
- A tool, not a mind.It proposes, never acts on its own. It is inert when not in use. Every answer can be explained and every step checked.“None of it is magic; all of it is explainable.” Danny, founder
- One hard line.It will never be used to kill.
- No one holds total control. Not one person, not one company, not us. We are putting in place an independent foundation to hold stewardship, with rules changed by the people rather than by us. Everything public except trade secrets.Being put in place
- Decorum, not censorship.Side-blind. It takes no side and asks only that people behave properly in public.“Free speech is free, but decorum costs nothing.” “Asking you to be polite in my establishment isn't censorship, it's responsible.” Danny, founder
- Gifts, not lock-in.Where it can solve a public problem, the solution goes to the most ethical organisation in that field, free.Being put in place

The NHS and schools pledge
Profit from government work goes back to the NHS and to schools.
“Every penny of profit we make from government contracts goes back into NHS trusts where it's needed most. Let's end the postcode lottery.”
Danny, founderThis is the pledge for Medical Prism and for every other government contract we win. The profit does not stay with us. It goes to the NHS trusts that need it most.
One condition comes with it. The NHS gets Medical Prism on condition that no member of staff loses their job because of it. It proposes; a person decides. That stays true in a hospital as much as anywhere else.
We make the same pledge to schools. We make learning tools for schools better and cheaper than what they pay for today, and every penny of profit from schools contracts goes back into the schools where it is needed most. The aim is to give government money double the value, and to put it where it is needed and on what it is needed for. That ends the postcode lottery in education too.
Schools are not just customers. Teachers and schools shape the content with us, alongside lessons mapped to the national curriculum. A free offline learning app for learners is in development.
Why write it down?
Because promises about AI have been cheap. Writing ours down, in plain words, means you can hold us to them. If something we ship does not match this page, the page is right and the product gets fixed.
